A Tropical Crab Hitches a Ride to Colorado on an Airplane
To me, this situation sounds like it would make for an amazing animated movie. The Denver Zoo Conservation has a new surprise resident after a crab hitched a ride on a commercial flight to Colorado.
The crab was rescued after it was found in the main cabin after landing at Denver International Airport from its originating destination, Costa Rica. The black and red crab's official type is what is known as the Halloween Crab, or Moon Crab. Talk about perfect timing to relocate to Colorado with only days to spare before Halloween.
The Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance is going to give this traveling crustacean a permanent home in the Tropical Discovery Exhibit starting in November. With only a few days left in the month of October, this Halloween Crab will greet guests as an animal ambassador as part of a demonstration at the gates of the Gates Amphitheatre until Halloween. Which seems fitting considering it is a Halloween Crab, after all. Check out the official photos of the little creature below.
