Study Ranks the Most Trustworthy American Accents: Where Does Colorado's Fall?

A recent study came out from BetUS Casino that determined the most "trustworthy" American accents. The country has 14 regional accents (but it seems like we're getting more and more every single day).

• Mountain West accents

  • Colorado, Utah, Montana

• Cajun accents

  • Almost exclusively in Louisiana

• New York accents

  • Different types of "New York" accents depending on the location or even borough in New York City like Brooklyn, Long Island, Staten Island, etc...

The Top 5 Most Trusted Accents in America

They determined that the top five most trustworthy American accents are:

1. Boston accents.
2. Cajun accents.
3. Philadelphia accents.
4. California accents.
5. New York accents.

The majority of these accents are centralized to the East Coast (Boston, Philadelphia, and New York).

As someone who has only spent a few days in Boston, I don't know if I believe this.

How Was This Accent Study Decided?

According to Reader's Digest, researchers looked into three key factors when determining this: internet search terms like “friendly (accent)” or “professional (accent),” rate of financial crime per 10,000 people, and the number of lawyers and primary-care doctors in the region.

We do know that Massachusetts is actually considered to be one of the best states to live in based on factors like healthcare, according to WalletHub.

This study found that our accent actually is considered  the LEAST trustworthy ones in the country.

The top five accents in this category were:

1. Mountain West accents.
2. New Jersey accents.
3. Southern accents.
4. Hawaiian accents.
5. Midwestern accents.

Colorado did fall to #19 in the ranking of best states to live in, according to recent reports.
