Farmers’ Almanac Winter Predictions for Colorado
While the temperatures still may be in the mid-nineties in Northern Colorado, winter is quickly approaching. Could the upcoming winter season be full of shoveling snow and Bomb Cyclones? There is really no telling what Mother Nature has in store for us.
The Farmers' Almanac has been predicting weather in the United States since 1792 and has some insight for us when it comes to what we can expect during the 2024-2025 winter season in Colorado. Traditionally, the Farmers' Almanac forecast has been around 80 percent correct with its predictions.
Winter Predictions for 2024 and 2025 in Colorado
The Front Range of Colorado is considered part of the High Plains. This region is shared with nine other states including parts of Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Wyoming, Nebraska, Montana, South Dakota, and North Dakota.
Winter temperatures are expected to be warmer than normal in the northern part of the region and colder than normal in the southern areas. Colorado could be considered part of the southern high plains region. The coldest parts of winter are said to be early to mid-January and pretty much all of February.
Snow Forecast for the Front Range of Colorado
The Farmers' Almanac is calling for near to above-normal snowfall for the Front Range of Colorado. Predictions for the snowiest parts of winter in our area are mid-November, mid to late January, and late February. However, we all know March is the snowiest month in the state of Colorado and we Coloradans are always prepared for the spring snowstorms.
