The first-ever location for Quiznos has been seized in Denver due to unpaid taxes. According to KDVR, the location has been open in Denver since 1981 at 1275 North Grant Street and is now closed due to the seizure of the property.

Documents on the door of the sandwich shop state the business is now in possession of the manager of finance of the City and County of Denver for non-payment of taxes. The notice posted at the original Quiznos location states the restaurant has 30 days from April 4 to pay the sales tax in the sum of $12,341.

In years past, Quiznos has had its fair share of financial hardships including filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2014. A the time of the bankruptcy filing the sandwich chain was reportedly $570 million in debt.

A quick Google search for Quiznos in Colorado shows that the majority of the locations for the sandwich chain are "Temporarily Closed". Those closures include the following locations:

  • Denver - 1275 Grant St
  • Denver - 3535 Quebec St
  • Broomfield - 4490 W 121st Ave
  • Brighton - 2237 Prairie Center Pkwy

There is good news if you love Quiznos and live in Northern Colorado, however. The Windsor location at 1550 Main Street is open for all of your sandwich needs.
