There is an Uptick in Cases of People Putting Glue in Their Eyes
One of the things you should never, ever do is put glue in your eyes. I do not care what viral trend is happening on your favorite social media platform. Don't do it. Thankfully, there isn't a trend for putting drops of glue in your eyes, or at least that we know of.
There is, however, an uptick in cases of people accidentally applying glue drops instead of eye drops in Colorado. According to KDVR, UCHealth is reporting a rise in cases of people accidentally putting glue in their eyes.

The most common mistake for these types of accidents is when someone mistakes fingernail glue for eye drops. This is quite a common occurrence because nail glue and eyedrops are packaged in very similar bottles.
Avoid Keeping Your Eyedrops Near Glue
The most important thing you can do to avoid this mistake is to not store your eyedrops and glue of any sort in the same area together. If you have a small medicine cabinet, you are probably better off purchasing a small plastic bin to put your nail supplies in and storing it in another area of your home or in a different drawer altogether.
Lots of people confuse things that are supposed to go elsewhere and end up putting it in their eye because either they're visually impaired or they're just grabbing for things quickly without looking at the label.
Dr. Richard Davidson, professor of ophthalmology at UCHealth, told KDVR.
What Should You Do If You Happen to Get Glue in Your Eyes?
Dr. Davidson says that if you accidentally get glue in your eyes, you should soak a towel and try to loosen and remove the glue before it hardens. If the glue has already hardened, you should seek a medical professional's help to avoid any further injury to your eye.
