2 Big Road Projects in 2025 Will Cause Hassles for Northern Colorado Drivers

With more and more people coming into Colorado, comes more vehicles on the road. When one of a city's most-used roads is set for two projects, it's good to get the word out.

A road that leads out to the interstate having to have lane closures for months on end, is something nobody wants to talk about; especially when it involves winter driving. In the end, folks will see improvements, but will need to be hassled to get them done.

In 2025 drivers in Fort Collins should hope they've been working on their patience.

Harmony Road in Fort Collins, Colorado, Slated for Two Projects

Beginning on the first Monday of January in 2025, the city of Fort Collins will be working on a two-mile stretch of Harmony Road, from College Avenue to Timberline Road. Thousands and thousands or commuters use Harmony everyday; many will be looking for another route.

The term "Cone Zone" will be heard a lot, as the city will working on concrete, and then will get serious, by working on asphalt.

The first project has the city doing concrete repairs beginning January 6, for 6-8 weeks, with single-lane closures; a month later, they'll start repaving that two-mile stretch.

That "asphalt resurfacing" will mean multiple lane closures (ugggh) for another 6-8 weeks. All while it's cold and snowy; it's definitely not going to be a pleasure if you have to use that part of Harmony Road in your everyday travels.

Traffic patterns will also be affected by these projects; those who need to use this part of Harmony are advised to pay close attention and avoid distractions.
