Have You Been to Any Of These Colorado Restaurants?
Forgive me for the fascination, but I've recently been binging The Bear. In the years prior, I've heard fans of Gordon Ramsay - and Gordon himself - go on and on and on about their precious "stars."
They are, of course, referring to the coveted "Michelin Stars" awarded to the world's best restaurants - a very prestigious honor limited to just a fraction of the world's most famous eateries.
The Michelin Guide, believe it or not, has been around since 1900, when the founders of the Michelin Tire company decided to create and publish a guide - in France - to help sell tires and create demand for the brand new automobile industry. Somehow that very guide, in the 125 years that have followed, has become THE most recognizable honor a restaurant can accomplish.
And now Colorado has four new members of the exclusive club.

The Wolf's Tailor, located at 4058 Tejon Street in Denver, is the first in the state to earn not just one, but two Michelin stars. Citing their "gorgeously manicured presentations," the guide heaps praise onto the restaurant as a must-visit for foodies near and far.
Popular sushi spot Kizaki is among the other three who have earned their very first Michelin star this year, with Chef Toshi Kizaki - now in his 70s - receiving honors as a "veritable trailblazer of Denver’s sushi scene." Kizaki is located at 1551 S. Pearl Street in Denver, inside Denchu.
Margot, also located alongside Kizaki at 1551 Pearl, was highlighted as a Colorado contemporary restaurant with a "signature cuisine both global and distinctly Coloradan, taking inspiration from local ingredients while weaving together wide-ranging influences." Being only an 8-seat pop-up inside a larger location, it must be truly amazing to earn this praise.

Finally, Chef Johnny Curiel's Mezcaleria Alma, at 2550 15th Street in Denver is akin to taking a stroll through "the vibrant creativity of Mexico City's restaurant scene," according to the Guide. Their menu is diverse, yet simple, and actually quite affordable if you've ever wanted to sample Michelin Star quality Mexican fare.
