Here’s How You Can Honor Your Beloved Servicemember at the Greeley Stampede
The Greeley Stampede is an annual Colorado community event with rodeos, concerts, the carnival, and food. In 2025, it will also feature a walkway dedicated to past and present servicemembers.
What is Greeley Stampede's 'Legacy Lane?'
Within the Greeley Stampede grounds at Island Grove Regional Park, there is a walkway featuring photos of past and present servicemembers. Community members are given the opportunity to feature a Veteran or current servicemember they know to be featured in a circle sign along that walkway.
The Greeley Stampede dates back to 1922 when it was the 'Greeley Spud Rodeo.' It became the Greeley Independence Stampede in 1972 by means of a community-wide naming contest. In 2024, an estimated 250,000 people attended the annual event.
Money raised with "Legacy Lane" benefits the wonderful High Plains Honor Flight, which takes Veterans on an all expense paid trip to Washington D.C. to visit memorials built in their honor.

So, community members can honor loved ones who have served, while also helping other deserving Veterans make the trip to D.C. It's a real "win-win."
How Do People Get Servicemembers They Know Included in 'Legacy Lane'
For serval weeks leading up to the Greeley Stampede, community members are encouraged to visit the Greeley Stampede's site and fill out a form, where they can also make a payment.
Our past and present servicemembers deserve all the accolades and signs of appreciation that we can bestow upon them. "Legacy Walk" is another great way of doing so.
