Usually, when a restaurant or business closes down around Colorado, the location will sit as is with a "we're closed" note taped to the door. This taco joint though went all out on its closure, and its local customers are wondering what happened.

Colorado has seen many closures over the last few years in particular. Businesses that you thought were doing pretty good on the surface were just gone one day. Retail shops and restaurants mostly, have been dropping like flies since 2020.

In most cases, the building of the closed business stays intact in hopes that another business will soon come along and take over the vacant location. In this case, though, it was completely boarded up, and it happened extremely quickly.

Taco John's Colorado Location Closed And Boarded Up

As many of us are, I'm a request visitor of Taco John's restaurants around Colorado. As far as fast-food Mexican restaurants go, they've been my favorite stop since I was a kid. I remember going to the tiny TJ's in Thornton, Colorado, on 92nd and Pecos on Taco Tuesday with my dad and brother. I love their food to this day!

That's why I was surprised when I attempted to pop by the local Taco John's just down the street from the radio station only to find out that after just seeing it open last week, it was closed. But it was not just closed, it was completely boarded up and abandoned-looking.

Taco John's In Windsor, Colorado, Closed Permanently

The Taco John's location just off of I-25 and Highway 392 in Windsor is now closed for good. Closing down one of our favorites is one thing, but the way it closed so rapidly, and being boarded up has us scratching our heads.

We've seen other TJ locations or even other fast-food joints close down, but have you ever seen all the signage being ripped down and windows and doors completely boarded up? As of this writing, there is no further information available about the rapid closure, or interesting boarding up of the building.

There are still currently more than ten other TJ locations around Colorado to get your Taco Tuesday and Potato Ole on at, and thank goodness because we'd be super sad without them!

This Local Colorado Mexican Restaurant Is One Of The Best

After opening in 2008, Las Palmeras Mexican Restaurant has become one of the area's very best locally-owned places to get delicious, and authentic Mexican food. We found this place by accident years ago while driving hungry down Main Street in Longmont and have been regulars ever since. The owner, the staff, the food, and the drinks are all top notch and that's what makes this one of Colorado's top choices for delicious Mexican food.
