Palisade ATM Robbed: Colorado Bank Targeted For Thousands Of Dollars

Halloween can be a crazy time of year in Colorado. Some people get a little too excited, while others get stupid. On Wednesday, October 30th, a couple of thieves decided to steal a truck and attempt to rob a Mesa County bank at about 1 AM.

Did the thieves forget that in 2024, banks and ATMs will be surrounded by cameras and video surveillance? Nonetheless, they can be seen backing a truck up into position to attempt to steal the cash machine.

Overnight Robbery In Palisade

Grand Valley Bank took over the location on 8th Street in Palisade after purchasing the Colorado National Bank branch in 2019. The bank is next to the Palisade soccer field near U.S. Highway 6 and Elberta Avenue.

Thieves Target Grand Valley Bank ATM

KKCO News 11 reports the thieves were caught on surveillance cameras approaching the bank at about 1 AM on October 30th. Using what is believed to be a stolen truck, two individuals appear on camera wrapping steel chains around the bank's ATM at the rear of the property. Palisade Police Chief Jesse Stanford told News 11 the thieves used the vehicle to pull the ATM from the ground which triggered the bank's silent alarm.

 Grand Valley Bank Lost Thousands

Grand Valley Bank says the pair got away with thousands of dollars. The official amount of money that was stolen from the bank has not been made official at the time of publication. The truck that appeared on camera is described as a four-door Ford F-250, colored maroon and black with a silver toolbox.
