Historic Colorado Mansion with Gargoyles Now a Restaurant + Hotel
Colorado has quite a rich past even if you only go as far back as the 1800s when what many call, "The Box State" received statehood right on the heels of the mining boom that brought droves of settlers to the area.

Luckily, many of the historic buildings, mining towns, and even mines themselves have survived all these years and many are available for the public to explore, or in the case of many of the businesses, patronize the old buildings that have been cared for for generations.
One of these places that is considered to be a historic Colorado landmark is an old mansion that while still standing, was recently converted into an establishment that offers services from its new bar, restaurant, and hotel.
Historic Colorado Building is Now Home to New Establishment
Way back in the 1880s, a luxurious mansion was built at 1665 Grant Street in Denver that would become known as the George Schleier Mansion.
The mansion was designed by Fred Edbrooke, a famous architect at the time, and featured elements that may seem bizarre in present times including sculptures of gargoyles and Bavarian Swans.
Recently, the building was purchased and repurposed as the Urban Cowboy, an establishment that consists of a bar, a restaurant, and even a boutique hotel, making good use of the old building while preserving its vintage appeal.
