Colorado’s Wish List For Country Jam 2023 Lineup
Get ready, Colorado. The folks at Country Jam will announce the official 2023 lineup on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. There's a "For Sale" sign on the property at Country Jam Ranch, so this may be the Jam's swan song.
I asked on Facebook, "Who would you like to see at the Jam next year?" Here's a look at your wish list for 2023. Let's take a good look at your picks, and then compare them to the official lineup when it's announced on Wednesday.
Tons O' Consistency In Your Picks
Looking at your choices below, it appears as though you really want to see Chris Stapleton and Morgan Wallen. As a matter of fact, it looks as though you want to see them really badly.
A Few Legends In The Mix
You can't have a Country Jam without scheduling at least a few legends. Look at the list below, and you'll see many of you want to see Reba McEntire, Brooks & Dunn, and a handful of other 80s and 90s artists.
When I was part of the production team at Country Jam, I was consistently a pain in the butt when it came to booking legends. It was always my opinion, and still is to this day, you can't have the event without at least one Dolly, Willie, or Merle on the bill. Well, I'm no longer part of the production team, and my employer, Townsquare Media, no longer owns Country Jam. With that, my opinion and $4.99 will get you a small coffee at Starbucks.
It Will Be Interesting To See....
You've shared your wish list for the 2023 lineup. Please keep in mind, my Facebook post was simply an engagment question. I wanted to know who you would like to see at the Jam. This post is not authorized by Country Jam, and will have no impact on their booking decisions. When it's all said and done, when 9 a.m. Mountain Time rolls around on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, it will be fun to compare your wish list with the actual 2023 lineup. Keep your fingers crossed.
One closing thought: For those who said they wanted to see Slayer and Metallica on the Country Jam lineup, you would be wise not to hold your breath. Slayer hasn't toured in three years, and Metallica is playing select dates headlining stadiums.
