These 13 Colorado Cities Have the Best Downtowns
There are plenty of great cities and towns across the United States of America, but none of them have the inherited coolness that comes with Colorado's mountain towns. There's something about the scenery that makes things seem just a little bit more interesting in Colorado. Maybe it's the altitude?
With all the love I have for the places of Colorado, in truth, a city is only as good as its downtown. If you don't have something happening in your town, let alone someplace for it to all actually happen, you may as well turn in your city card because it just doesn't count.
Whether it's a healthy selection of restaurants you're looking for, or enough bars around to plan your own pub crawl, a good downtown should have something for everyone. Do you need to do some daytime shopping? Check out some of the best local businesses that your town has to offer. Do you want to get up to some nighttime shenanigans? Well, downtown is definitely the place to make that happen.
On the other hand, sometimes a great downtown can be defined by its local charm. Sometimes, being smaller can actually work to a town's benefit. One of my favorite places on the planet - New Milford, Connecticut - doesn't boast a particularly busy nightlife, but its downtown is one of the most memorable to me because you can walk the entire area in about an hour. I mean, that's basically the entire premise of the show Gilmore Girls, right there.
Let's take a look at the 13 best downtowns in the state of Colorado.
