I remember being a young teenager. It was back in the '90s, which is weird because I'm only 25.

I think we can all agree the hardest teenage years are the early ones, circa 13-14ish. Between 1996 and 1999, I went to Wellington Middle School; I had braces and short hair, and I wouldn't be shocked if someone told me I had B.O.

The early teen years come with a lot of pressure, especially with social media. Back then, if someone wanted to call you ugly, they'd pass an intricately folded piece of paper, usually with the words written in bubble letters. Because it was the 90s and we were whimsical like that.

Anyway, not only have I been a teenager, but I have also raised teenagers, and my God, middle school girls are monsters. And again, I know because I was one. But they're monsters because it's hard figuring things out at that age. Sometimes you need a safe space.

That's why I'm excited to share that an event is coming up, made for teens, just for teens. Here are the details.

Teen Self-Care Fair

This very cool event is happening at the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery on October 18th. It focuses on teen mental health and wellness. The event will feature aerial skills, food trucks, art, and games.

Registration is NOT required, and the event is free.
