Ice Rink at The Promenade Shops at Centerra Getting New Look
There are few outdoor ice rinks in Northern Colorado for wintertime fun; Fort Collins' Old Town Square has one, and The Promenade Shops at Centerra has one; Loveland's is getting a makeover just in time for the 2026 holiday season.
New and Improved Ice Rink Coming to The Promenade Shops at Centerra
The Promenade Shops at Centerra first opened in the fall of 2005; hundreds of thousands of people from around Northern Colorado, and those visting Lovleand, have shopped, dined, and had fun there. Part of the fun is that ice rink by Build-A-Bear; it's fun not only to skate, but to watch people skate. By the time it starts to ger really cold in 2026, we'll see a brand new rink.
According to the Reporter-Herald, the new owners of The Promenade Shops at Centerra (since 2025) have been upgrading things at the open-air mall; I did see that Famous Footwear has a new look from the outside, which is just part of the plan: sprucing things up while bringing in new shops/restaurants.
You Can't Ice Skate All Year, So Why Not Find a Way to Use That Space?
The ice rink is getting a whole new renovation, where it won't just be an ice rink for wintertime enjoyment, but it'll be a "multi-purpose" area that can be used all year long. You'll find that great fire pit still there, not to worry.

Outside of the construction area for the new rink, they have a banner showing what the area will look like when finished:

I think this is great; I, like I'm sure a lot of people, have worried that the shops would be "going away." Seeing them invest in the mall reassures, at least me, that The Promenade Shops have at least another 20 years ahead of them.
