Traveling out of DIA is always one of those exciting but dreading feelings for me. I'm excited to travel and go on vacation, but our hometown airport is such a pain, every single time.

With the current construction that feels like it's been ongoing for ten years, it's just not very user or consumer-friendly. Airport experiences won't likely ever be perfect, but we can certainly improve on the current experience at DIA.

Many airports make flying a pretty tolerable experience, but ours in Colorado, sadly has been ranked otherwise. According to a study done by J.D. Power, Colorado's middle-of-nowhere airport is one of the worst Mega Airport in America. Here's why.

J.D. Power measured The departure procedures for check-in & baggage check and claim, on-time arrival & departures, lengthy delays, terminals, security and wait times, food & shopping options, and more.

After all of the research, the study found that Denver International Airport is the 6th worst Mega Airport in the entire country. The five airports worse than ours were...

5. George Bush International Airport (Houston, Texas)

4. Boston Logan International Airport

3. Los Angeles International Airport

2. O’Hare International Airport (Chicago, Illinois)

1. Newark Liberty International Airport (New Jersey)

Being a mega airport means there are more than 33+ million passengers per year, so we can see why DIA might be the way that it is, but we're hopeful that after all of the construction is finally done, we can work our way off of this list and be known for being one of the best.
