Grand Junction Has a Surprisingly Cheap Halloween Secret
Halloween is this Saturday, October 31. If you are still trying to figure out costumes for everyone in your family, don’t panic. One Grand Junction thrift store is keeping costume creation fun and wallet-friendly.
Did you know that Arc Thrift Store on North Avenue has new and secondhand Halloween costumes? I walked the aisles myself. Even with just a few days left until Halloween, there are still plenty of costume combinations left. Your purchase makes a difference here in Mesa County too.

According to an Arc employee who spoke to KKCO, get creative, and you can create a fun Halloween costume for about $9 per person, including accessories and shoes. Compare that with some new costumes costing $50 or more each. Stop by with some ideas, and see what you can put together.
Creative Halloween Costumes Are Hiding on Grand Junction's Racks
Arc employees say pirates, bikers, nerds, and even NASCAR driver costumes are easy to put together with what's in stock. Instead of buying a packaged outfit, mix clothing and accessories to create your own look. Pre-packaged costumes were still available as of Tuesday, and the store was loaded with shoppers taking advantage of the deals.

After Halloween, consider donating your costume instead of storing it or discarding it. Arc Thrift Store saves donated Halloween merchandise for the following year so that other families have an affordable option. If the kids are grown and you have a bin full of costumes you don’t need, bring them to 2830 North Avenue in Grand Junction.
Arc Thrift Store accepts donations Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Remember, your purchase at Arc Thrift Stores supports the Arc Mesa County disability advocacy work.
