In a surprising turn of events, a beloved restaurant located at 1100 Independent Avenue in Grand Junction, Colorado officially closed its doors.

This closure comes as a major shock, especially to those who had just visited the restaurant earlier that same day. After a day of business as usual, serving breakfast lunch, and dinner to loyal customers, the business abruptly closed for good on Sunday, January 21, 2024.

A Longstanding Grand Junction, Colorado Business

Golden Corral, known for its extensive buffet offerings and family-friendly atmosphere, had been a staple in the Grand Junction community for years. The decision to close was met with mixed emotions from loyal patrons who frequented the establishment for its diverse menu and welcoming ambiance.

According to ScrapeHero, as of December 13, 2023, a total of 335 Golden Corral restaurants were operating in the United States.

What Happened?

Ming Lin posted the following on Facebook:

As everyone knows. Grand International Buffet has officially purchased the real estate in Golden Corral. We are deeply sorry for the loss of jobs to its employees and the customers who love this restaurant. The reason is that the former franchise holder has reached the end of the contract, and they can only stop losses by selling the existing real estate. Anyhow, I hope to get everyone's understanding. Next, we will be open a brand-new restaurant to take over the regrets left behind. After our renovation is completed, we will be looking for employees, and you are very welcome to come apply for your next job, thank you. sincerely!

While the closure of Golden Corral marks the end of an era for the Independent Avenue location, the arrival of Grand International Buffet signals the beginning of a new culinary adventure for Grand Junction residents. As the community bids farewell to one beloved restaurant, they eagerly anticipate the exciting possibilities that the new chapter in the location's history will bring.
