Ashley is a dedicated preschool teacher currently shaping young minds at The Early Childhood Center (ECC) in Montrose. Ashley's journey to early childhood education is as inspiring as it is impactful, marked by years of meaningful service in various roles.

Before stepping into her current role, Ashley spent three years with Montrose County as an Eligibility Technician where she played a crucial role in administering essential services such as food stamps, medical aid, and long-term care for the elderly. This position was deeply fulfilling, allowing her to make a significant difference in the lives of many families.

Ashley’s career began with Montrose County in a different capacity. For five years, she was involved in the Team Companion program, working with at-risk youth on critical issues like pregnancy prevention and high school dropout rates. Her dedication to helping young people ranged from ages 10 to 18, providing support and guidance during some of their most formative years.

When the COVID-19 pandemic emerged, Ashley recognized the need for a schedule that better aligned with her family’s needs, which led her to pivot towards preschool education—a field where she could not only continue her commitment to nurturing and supporting young individuals but also create a more balanced work-life schedule.

At ECC Montrose, Ashley is passionate about laying the groundwork for her students' future educational journeys. She understands the profound impact that early education can have on a child’s development and strives to build a strong, supportive foundation for each of her students. Ashley’s diverse background and experiences have equipped her with a unique perspective and a deep empathy for the children and families she serves.

Join us in celebrating Ashley Chicon's incredible journey and her unwavering dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of children and families in Montrose.

Congratulations, Ashley, and thank you for the role you play in our community!
