Since I was a kid, I've always loved second-hand stores and pawn shops. I've spent countless hours rummaging through things like used CDs, music equipment, flannel shirts, and all kinds of other things and have scored some killer deals.

Luckily, many thrift stores and pawn shops are still around in brick-and-mortar form despite the mass migration to online shopping via websites like eBay and Amazon. In fact, Grand Junction is still home to many of these types of stores and, consequently, many great deals just waiting to take advantage of.

Curious, I posted a question on Facebook asking you what some of the coolest things you've picked up at a thrift store and/or pawn shop have been and got all kinds of great responses.

The Coolest Stuff Grand Junction Has Found Second-Hand

There's really something special about going into a thrift store or pawn shop and browsing the items that someone else has discarded. Plus, if you're like me and rely on places like these to score cheap used music gear and equipment, you want to try out the products before purchasing which is a luxury unavailable online.

Grand Junction residents have found some serious gems in thrift stores and pawn shops over the years including video games, used guitars, a painting of Orson Welles, a unique Colorado Avalanche jacket, and a Tibetan coat, just to name a few.

In addition, many of these thrift and pawn store finds were completely unexpected. For example, Lynda said that she found a $50 bill inside some old pantyhose, and Leroy had a similar story of finding a $3 bill in some old pants.
