Building a House

Rocket Mortgage adds when building a home, some of the expenses to plan for include:

  • Clearing and grading the land
  • Building an access road
  • Environmental testing
  • Additional permits
  • Building access to utilities such as water, natural gas, and sewer

Other Possibilities

I can remember a time when the Mantey Heights area of Grand Junction was nothing more than a bunch of dirt out in the desert. As a matter of fact, it's where I first learned to ride a motorcycle. Fast forward to 2023, and it's rich with new housing and multi-million dollar real estate.

There is such a thing as buying and holding. Given the growth rate of the Grand Valley, it's only a matter of time before the Grand Junction Regional Airport increases in size. Given that inevitability, it seems reasonable these 40 acres could be of interest to someone someday.

Like I always say, this property and its sale is of no consequence to me. I don't own it, don't know who does, and will in no way benefit from its sale. As a resident of Grand Junction, and as the owner of a few income properties, I like to keep my eyes open for possibilities. When something comes along that catches my eye, I tend to assume it may be of interest to you.
