Playing this weekend at the Fox Theater:

John Wick: Chapter 4 (R)

Starring: Keanu Reeves, Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgard

John Wick (Reeves) returns to the underground world of assassins, looking to settle the score with the mysterious and powerful High Table, while also facing off against a new enemy with global connections. There are a lot of people saying this is the best film in the series, and one of the greatest action movies of all time.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (PG-13)

Starring: Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Hugh Grant

Join Edgin (Pine), Holga (Rodriguez) and a crew of adventurers on a quest to find a lost relic. Based on the legendary tabletop fantasy roleplaying game. This one has absolutely no connection to the 2000 film, and there is nothing wrong with that, because that movie was awful.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie (PG)

Starring: Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jack Black

Plumber brothers Mario (Pratt) and Luigi (Charlie Day) get pulled into a wondrous adventure in the Mushroom Kingdom, as they seek to help Princess Peach (Taylor-Joy) save the land from the evil Bowser (Black).

Video game adaptations are hot right now, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie may end up being the hottest of the year. This is actually the titular plumber's second try on the silver screen, though it's the first to actually attempt to adapt the source material faithfully.
