Small Business Saturday Deals in Montrose, Colorado

Thanksgiving is finally upon us. A day filled with loud families, football, and long naps. A day to enjoy the fruits of our labor while will fill up on Turkey, Taters, Casseroles and lots and lots of Pies. In my house back when my 3 daughters were young and playful. Thanksgiving was a fun time had by all. But it was black Friday my former wife and daughters looked forward too... They would get up @ 3am, usually having to scrap the fresh Colorado snow off their vehicles and wait in those long lines discussing their strategy when they finally make it thru the door.

But thanks to Small business Saturday, that has all changed. As of today, they no longer drudge out into the early morning hours, they wait for Saturday, where they spend time shopping local. Not only do my girls get well deserved sleep, they now spend their money to help out our local merchants. Don't quote me on this, but I heard roughly 70% of the money stays local, while 30% goes to those big box stores. Again, not an accurate number only a rumor, but if that's true, that is truly outstanding.

KUBC GOLD and 94 KIX Country will be out in Montrose celebrating Black Friday & Small Business Saturday in Historic Downtown Montrose .

According to Kate Adams, D.A.R.T Coordinator , "The city of Montrose is putting $10,000 of Montrose Bucks into Small Business Saturday promotions. For every $50 spent on participating locations, you can receive an additional $10 in Montrose Bucks that also can be used at the downtown shops."
