You Will Never Guess Colorado’s Favorite Sports Movie

Everybody loves a good sports movie. While I'm not the biggest football fan, three of my favorite movies ever are Remember the Titans, The Replacements, and Leatherheads. I don't even like baseball, but you're liable to get chopped in the throat if you try to speak to me while I'm watching any of the Major League films, up to and including the Scott Bakula one. I'm one of the five people on the planet who actually liked Arli$$. When I say, "everyone loves a good sports movie," I mean everyone, and they all have a favorite.

With so many films and so many sports fans around the country, you can get wildly different picks for the best of them from person to person, let alone state to state. So, what is Colorado's favorite sports movie? If the results of a new study are to be believed, then I guarantee you don't know, and you won't even be able to guess it in your first five attempts.

Based on Google search trends, as compiled by MyProtein.com, Colorado's favorite sports movie is obscure. More to the point, it isn't even a good movie, and again, this is coming from someone who liked Arli$$. Now, say what you want to about HBO's critically-panned chronicle of a bumbling sports agent, at least it isn't Blades of Glory.

Yes, Will Ferrell's sole contribution to the year 2007 film is Colorado's favorite sports movie. For context, this would be the part of his filmography immediately after the success of Anchorman and Talladega Nights, wherein there was a five-ish year period of work that was generally remembered for being hot garbage. Blades of Glory was right in the middle of that time period.

Now, as a fan of Jean-Claude Van Damme's Street Fighter, I'm not really one to talk when it comes to a love of dumb movies. But to be the most-searched movie in Colorado? Alabama searched for Remember the Titans more than any other sports movie. I can't believe I'm saying this, but be more like Alabama, Colorado. They like much better movies.

Then again, it could've been worse: we could've been searching for Semi-Pro, and nobody wants that.
