Get Ready for Another Colorado Summer on the Western Slope

We're well on our way to summer, and here in Colorado, we have it better than most when it comes to everybody's favorite season. Sure, it can get pretty hot on the Western Slope, but we don't get too much inclement weather, either. That's the trade-off when you live in the desert, and if you ask me, it's better than the summers they have in more humid climates like Florida.

There's plenty to do in Colorado during all the other seasons, but the real beauty of the Centennial State is on display in the summer. With kids getting ready to be out of school, and potentially large amounts of vacation time waiting to be useful, now is the perfect time to start thinking about what to do with your time while the season is decent.

If you live in Montrose, you already know one of the best places to spend those hot summer days on the Western Slope is the Montrose Water Sports Park at Riverbottom Park. It's one of the largest in the state and is perfect for everyone that wants to play in the water, regardless of skill level. If you aren't lucky enough to live in Montrose, you really are missing out on this one. It's worth the trip if you're anywhere on the Western Slope.

What if you're looking to get outside, but you're not that into the idea of getting wet? Well, Colorado is home to some of the most beautiful hiking and biking you'll find in the entire country. Not a bad way to start working towards those New Year's resolutions, am I right?

With the recent news that gas prices are trending downward for the summer, it's beginning to look like the next few months will be the perfect time to take a day trip, and discover some of the wonders of Colorado that you don't even know about, yet. Heck, you could even head to Denver; I hear that's a pretty popular spot for this exact situation. Why not take advantage of it, and make some memories you can tell those losers at the office about when you get back next fall?
